Field Hockey Earns Victory at Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Senior Tyler Olivio scored three goals while senior Lauren Cagliostro contributed one tally as the Drew University field hockey team captured a 4-1 non-conference victory at Cedar Crest College Wednesday evening.

Olivio posted her second career hat trick, as she also scored three goals in a 6-3 victory over Lycoming last season.

With the win, the Rangers (4-1) have posted their best five-game start since the 2013 squad began 5-0.

Drew, which held a 25-4 shot advantage, never trailed after Olivio scored less than a minute into the game, converting a feed from sophomore Emma Rider.

The Falcons (2-3) pulled even with 3:03 left in the opening quarter, but Olivio gave the Rangers the lead for good when she scored just two minutes into the second period off a pass from freshman Ellie Kopec, and the Blue and Green led 2-1 at the break.

Cagliostro struck just over two minutes into the third quarter, finishing off a pass from Rider during a Ranger corner.

Olivio set the final score when she scored with 3:40 remaining on a pass from graduate student Hana Johnston

Sophomore Beth Kelly made three saves for the Rangers.

The Rangers are back in action on Saturday, when they host Widener at noon in another non-league outing.
