MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's team earned a 5-2 victory over Landmark Conference foe Lycoming College in its conference opener on Saturday at the Drew Tennis Complex.
The victory gave first-year Head Coach
Geoffrey Diehl C'21 his first men's tennis win.
The Rangers claimed all three doubles matches to assume an early 1-0 lead. Sophomore
Daniel Arcari and junior
Jesse Faro won 6-1 at No. 1 as did senior
Josh Kline and junior
Shivi Perera at No. 2. Freshman
Cameron Longa and senior
Owen Reynolds completed the sweep with a 7-6 (7-4) win at No. 3.
Drew went on to win at Nos. 1-4 singles. Sophomore
Nicolas Mobayed cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 1 while freshman
Dikshan Chhikara was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at No. 2. Sophomore
Ty Gelijns prevailed 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3, and senior
Sergey Kravchenko captured a 6-3, 6-2 decision at No. 4.
The Rangers pick up their schedule Thursday through Sunday with the ITA Division III Northeast Regional, which will be hosted by Drew for the third year in a row.
