Susquehanna Snaps Field Hockey’s Winning Streak

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University ended the Drew University field hockey team's seven-game winning streak, topping the Rangers 4-0 in a Landmark Conference matchup Saturday afternoon.

Junior Beth Kelly made a career-high 18 saves, the 10th-most (tied) in team history, for the Rangers (11-2, 3-1 LC).

Neither side scored in the opening quarter, when Kelly turned aside three shots.

The River Hawks (7-6, 3-1 LC) fired off 15 shots in the second quarter, when Kelly accumulated 10 of her saves, and it was a 1-0 game at the intermission.

Susquehanna pushed its lead to 3-0 with a pair of tallies in the third quarter, then set the final score on a goal with two minutes left.

The Rangers continue their season on Wednesday, when they host Wilkes University at 7 p.m. in another Landmark Conference tilt.
