EDWARSVILLE, Pa. – Freshman
Olivia Klein scored a goal in the 31st minute and the Drew University women's soccer team earned a 1-0 Landmark Conference victory at Wilkes University Tuesday evening.
The Rangers (5-6-2, 2-3 LC) outshot the 10-5 and did not yield a shot on goal.
Sophomore
Megan Fedish set up Drew's goal, taking a low-lining shot from the left side. Wilkes keeper Delaney Yaracs was unable to smother it at the left post and Klein quickly followed up with a blast into the back corner of the net for her team-leading sixth goal of the season, giving the Rangers all the scoring they would need.
The Rangers held a 4-1 shot advantage in the first half, then outshot the Colonels 6-4 in the second period, when Yaracs made two of her three stops for the game.
Junior
Sarah Crowley did not need to make a save to register her first shutout of the season.
The Rangers pick up their schedule on Saturday, when they visit Catholic University in another Landmark Conference tilt starting at 1 p.m.
