PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Drew University women's tennis team closed the fall portion of its schedule with a 4-3 non-conference victory at Manhattanville University on Saturday.
The Rangers (1-1) won the doubles point, then prevailed at Nos. 5, 1, and 4 singles to make it 4-1 and clinch the match.

Anna Kupyna opened with a 6-1 victory at No. 3 before juniors
Kapriana Payami and
Danielle Pettoni earned a 7-6 (7-3) win via tiebreaker at the second spot to clinch the doubles point.
In singles play, Evans cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 before junior
Riley Roesel captured a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 1, winning 7-6 (7-4), 0-6, 7-6 (7-5) to push her team's lead to 3-1. Payami then clinched the match for the Rangers with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) win at No. 4.
Drew will play the bulk of its schedule during the spring semester, starting with a home match versus Ithaca College on Feb. 13.
