CLARK, N.J. – Junior
Tommy Edwards posted the top finish for the Drew University men's cross country team at the Landmark Conference Championships, hosted by Drew at Oak Ridge Park on Saturday.
Edwards placed 25th in a field of 112 runners, clocking a time of 26 minutes, 25 seconds for the 8,000-meter course to chip five seconds from his personal record (PR) set two weeks earlier.
Sophomore
Matt Ellis was Drew's second finisher on the brisk and windy day, placing 49th with a PR of 27:33. Freshman
Matt Vargas was the next Ranger to finish, placing 62nd in 28:22.
The next three Rangers to cross the finish line finished just 11 seconds apart. Freshman
Chris Tocci placed 78th in 29:08 while senior
Dylan Crain completed the team scoring, taking 79th in 29:09. Sophomore
Eliot Vishnevsky was not far behind, placing 80th in a PR of 29:19.
Also competing were freshmen
Luke Krafton, who took 99th in 32:05, and
Patrick Robinson, who was 107th in 35:49.
The Rangers continue their season on Nov. 15 at the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships, held at the Gloucester County Dream Park in Logan Township, N.J.
