LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The Drew University men's cross country team closed the curtains on its 2025 season at the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships on Saturday at Gloucester County DREAM Park.
The Rangers tied for 16th among 26 teams, tying the second-best finish at a regional championship in team history.
Leading the charge for Drew was sophomore
Matt Ellis, who raced to a personal record (PR) of 27 minutes, five seconds for the 8,000-meter course, good for a 72nd-place finish among 181 runners. He sliced 28 seconds from his previous PR set in his last race two weeks ago at the Landmark Conference Championships.
Junior
Tommy Edwards was Drew's second finisher, taking 90th with a time of 27:34. In his final collegiate cross country race, senior
Dylan Crain placed 106th in 28:24 – just one second shy of his PR set during his freshman campaign.
Rounding out the team score for the Rangers were sophomore
Eliot Vishnevsky, who placed 120th in 29:41, and freshman
Chris Tocci, who was 130th in 30:15.
Finishing as displacers were freshmen
Luke Krafton, who took 135th with an impressive 55-second PR of 30:47, and
Patrick Robinson, who came in 155th in 33:14.
Led by race winner Brandon Chen (24:25), The College of New Jersey captured the team title.
