Amy Rachilla scored 21 points and the Drew University women's basketball team opened its season with a 71-57 victory at Rutgers-Camden in non-conference tilt Saturday evening.
Rachilla added four rebounds and four assists while shooting 6-for-7 from the field and 8-for-9 at the free-throw line en route to her third career 20-point game.
Junior guard
Miabella Diaz added a career-high 16 points, five rebounds, and four steals for the Rangers, who won their season opener for the sixth year in a row, while senior forward
Gianna Pica posted 11 points, five rebounds, and three steals.
The Rangers were hot offensively in the early going and outscored the Raptors 21-15 in the first quarter and 20-19 in the second period to open up a 41-34 lead at the intermission.
Drew continued to pull away in the second half, edging out Camden 16-11 in the third quarter and 14-12 in the final stanza.
The Rangers play their home opener on Wednesday, when they take on Rutgers-Newark at 6 p.m. in another non-conference outing.
