Four from Women’s Basketball Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

2026 CSC Women's Basketball Academic All-District Team

MADISON, N.J. – Four members of the Drew University women's basketball team have been recognized for their achievements on the court and in the classroom with their selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
 
Senior center Brenna Hezel received the award for the third year in a row while junior guard Alice Altomare captured CSC Academic All-District honors for the second straight season. In addition, junior guards Olivia Aliotta and Amy Rachilla captured a spot on the team for the first time.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
 
To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve who has appeared in at least 90 percent of the team's games or started 66 percent of the team's contests. Each school may nominate a maximum of four student-athletes for the CSC Academic All-America® program in basketball.
 
Aliotta, a Political Science and Italian double major, played in all 26 games and made 21 starts this past season. She finished as the Rangers second-leading scorer, averaging 8.6 points per game, and led the team in rebounding with 5.9 boards per night. In addition, she finished second among the Rangers in blocks (0.6 bpg) and tied for second in steals (1.2 spg).   
 
A Political Science major, Altomare played in all 26 games this past season. She averaged 5.6 points per game and finished second on the team in 3-pointers made with 36.
 
Hezel, a Biology and English Literature double major, appeared in 25 games and made six starts this past year, averaging 4.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. In addition, she led the team with 27 blocked shots.
 
A Business major, Rachilla finished as the Rangers' third-leading scorer (7.8 ppg) while also leading the squad in steals (1.7 spg). In addition, she finished second on the squad in assists (2.7 apg) and free-throw percentage (76.6%).
 
The Rangers finished 13-13 this past season while posting an 8-10 mark in Landmark Conference play. The squad placed sixth in the conference standings to earn the team's third consecutive appearance in the Landmark Conference Championship tournament.
