MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University baseball team competed in the first day of the Battle of Madison Avenue on Saturday and came up on the short end of a 6-1 decision at FDU-Florham.

The Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first before FDU scored six unanswered runs.

Anthony Diaz Jr. led off the game with a single before sophomoreÂ
Raiden Yost was hit by a pitch. Diaz then scored on an infield error.

The Devils scored twice in the third before putting up three in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Matt Colucci started on the mound for Drew and pitched four innings while striking out six. He gave way to sophomore
Tyler Bell, who tossed a pair of innings before classmate
Aidan Bauer fired a pair of scoreless innings while striking out three.

Drew concludes action at the Battle of Madison Avenue on Sunday, when it plays Saint Elizabeth University at 1 p.m.
