MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's volleyball team won the final three sets and a hit a season-high .272 in a 3-1 victory over John Jay College on Saturday in Baldwin Gym.
The Rangers won by scores of 18-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-19 in the first scheduled match of the day. The second two – including Drew's contest with Cairn University – were ultimately postponed due to a power outage that affected the Borough of Madison.
Drew received a number of big performances, including a strong all-around showing from junior
Andrew DuHaime. He distributed 42 assists while also hitting .462 on six kills, no errors, and 13 swings. In addition, he threw down a career-high six blocks.
Senior
Ephraim Smith added 11 kills and 13 digs while hitting .375, and freshman
Matthew Adegbite contributed 11 kills and six digs. Freshman
Gio Martin clubbed nine kills while classmate
Michael Shipman pitched in with seven kills and five blocks. Senior
C.J. Addeo notched seven kills and four blocks while hitting .429, and freshman
Eric Forget scooped 18 digs.
Nick Fuentes and Micah Rossman totaled 12 kills apiece for the Bloodhounds (9-3).
The Rangers continue their season on Friday, when they visit Marymount University in a Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) match starting at 7 p.m.
