TOWSON, Md.  – Katerina Poulathas has been honored as the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's swimming & diving, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications directors, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.

The Rangers have now captured the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award for women's swimming & diving four years in a row and five times in the last six years, as Poulathas follows previous winners Amira Hadri C'24, Katie Cashin C'23, Sydney Everhart C'22, and Mal Vishwanath C'20.

A computer science major and art minor, Poulathas is a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree (2023, 2024), a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll, and a consistent Dean's List recipient. Poulathas was a Federation of Cypriot American Organizations Scholarship recipient and participated in the Tropical Marine Ecology ShortTREC in Belize in March 2023.

A key contributor to Drew's 2022 Landmark Conference team title, she is a three-time Landmark individual champion in the 1650-freestyle (2022, 2023, 2024) and also claimed a conference title in the 500-freestyle (2022). Named the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year in 2022, Poulathas has also served as a team captain.

Beyond academics and athletics, Poulathas has dedicated time to leadership and community service initiatives. A member of the ISC2 New Jersey Chapter, she has served as a counselor for the New Jersey Governor's School in the Sciences, a tutor at the Center of Academic Excellence, and a volunteer with the Great Swamp Watershed Association. Additionally, she has volunteered as a dive coach at Sunnybrook Swim Club.
