MADISON, N.J. – Four members of the Drew University women's swimming & diving team have been recognized for their performance in the pool and in the classroom with their selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

Senior Katerina Poulathas captured her third career Academic All-District honor while junior Kaitlyn Zayle was honored for the second time. In addition, seniors Eliza Lockwood and Emilie Tobin earned their first career AAD awards.

Additionally, Poulathas was chosen as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 22.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average. They must also compete in five competitions or finish in the top-eight at a conference meet.

Poulathas, a Computer Science major, was also named the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's swimming & diving last month. She captured silver medals in both the 1,650-freestyle and the 800-freestyle relay at the Landmark Conference Championships this past season, earning Second Team All-Landmark honors in both events. In addition, she placed ninth in the 500-freestyle and 10th in the 100-butterfly.

A Psychology major, Zayle earned runner-up honors in both the 200-freestyle relay and the 200-medley relay, earning second team all-conference honors in both events. She also took third in the 400-freestyle relay to garner all-conference honorable mention. In addition, she placed seventh in the 100-freestyle, ninth in the 50-freestyle, and 10th in the 200-freestyle.

Lockwood, an Economics major, was a distance freestyle specialist throughout her career and competed in three events at the Landmark Conference Champinoships this past season. She placed 13th in the 200-freestyle and 17th in both the 500-freestyle and 1,650-freestyle.

A Biology major, Tobin competed in five events at the Landmark Conference Championships and earned all-conference honors in three of them. She was a Second Team All-Landmark honoree after taking second in both the 400-IM and the 800-freestyle relay, and she was also an all-conference honorable mention for placing third in the 400-freestyle relay. In addition, she came in fourth in both the 200-breaststroke and the 200-IM.

The Rangers finished third in the team standings at the Landmark Conference Championships.
