WASHINGTON, DC – The Drew University women's tennis team rallied late in the match, but host Catholic University won the deciding point, handing the Rangers a 4-3 loss in a Landmark Conference tilt Saturday afternoon.
The Cardinals (8-3, 3-0 LC) snapped Drew's 30-match winning streak versus Landmark Conference opponents and 24-match Landmark Conference regular-season winning streak. The Rangers had not lost to a conference opponent since a 5-0 loss to Moravian in the 2021 Landmark Conference semifinals, and the team had not dropped a regular-season conference match since 7-2 loss at Scranton on April 27, 2021.
Catholic won all three doubles matches, winning the doubles point to assume a 1-0 lead.

Sophie Weaver claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles for Drew (4-5, 1-1 LC) to make it 1-1 before Catholic won at Nos. 3-1 singles to go up 3-1.

Riley Roesel won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 before classmate
Danielle Pettoni prevailed 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (6-3). But Catholic clinched the match with a win at No. 6 singles.
The Rangers are back in action on Wednesday, when they host Manhattanville University starting at 4 p.m.
