MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis rolled to a 7-0 Landmark Conference victory at the University of Scranton on Tuesday.
The Rangers (9-8, 6-2 LC), who won their fourth consecutive Landmark Conference match, won eight of the nine matches on the day.
Drew started the afternoon by capturing the doubles point after winning at both first and second doubles. Freshman
Dikshan Chhikara and sophomore
Nicolas Mobayed prevailed in a tiebreaker at No. 2, winning 7-6 (9-7) while sophomore
Ty Gelijns and senior
Josh Kline recorded a 6-2 victory.
In singles play, junior
Jesse Faro won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1, improving to 5-1 in Landmark Conference play, while sophomore
Daniel Arcari earned a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 2. Chhikara was a 6-3, 6-1 winner at No. 3 while Mobayed won by a 6-2, 6-2 verdict at No. 4 to push his conference record to 4-1.
Junior
Shivi Perera added a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 5 while Kline registered a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6.
The Rangers close out the regular season when they travel to Susquehanna University on Friday to resume their match with the River Hawks that was suspended due to rain on April 12 with Drew leading 3-1.
