DALLAS, Pa. – The Drew University dropped a pair of matches to highly-competitive opponents on the second and final day of the Misericordia Classic on Saturday.
The Rangers opened the day with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-20) loss to No. 11-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology before dropping a 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-17) decision to Misericordia, which received votes in the latest AVCA Division III poll.
Sophomore
Quinn Donahue was selected to the All-Tournament Team after finishing the weekend with 24 kills, 62 assists, and 13 digs over three matches.
Against Wentworth, Donahue posted seven kills and hit .500, and he also handed out 22 assists. Sophomore
Michael Shipman also posted seven kills against the Leopards while classmate
Matthew Adegbite notched six kills. Senior
Jason Barbosa and sophomore
Eric Forget contributed eight digs each.
Sophomore
Gio Martin paced the Rangers against Misericordia with nine kills while Adegbite posted six kills. Donahue distributed 18 assists versus the Cougars.
The Rangers play their home opener on Thursday, when they take on Bard College at 7 p.m.
