Women’s Soccer Blanks Moravian for Landmark Conference Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Riley Bent and freshman Caitlin Zegler scored one goal apiece and the Drew University women's soccer team captured a 2-0 victory at Moravian University in a Landmark Conference affair Wednesday evening.

Senior Ella Reyndgoudt assisted on both goals for the Rangers (4-2-4, 2-0-1 LC), who remained unbeaten in Landmark Conference play.

The Rangers also registered a lockdown defensive effort, as they prevented the Greyhounds from taking a shot on goal and yielded only three total shots.

Senior Sarah Crowley did not need to make a save to record her third shutout of the season, and she is now in sole possession of third in team history with nine clean sheets.

Caitlyn Philips and Addy Tally split the time in goal for Moravian (5-3-2, 1-2-0 LC), with each allowing one goal and making one save.

Bent scored in the 26th minute for her third goal of the season, and the Rangers carried a 1-0 lead into the intermission after out-shooting the Greyhounds 6-2 in the opening period.

Zegler set the final score in the 78th minute, as she also netted her third tally of the year.

Drew outshot Moravian 9-3 for the game.

The Rangers return to action on Saturday, when they visit Susquehanna University at 4 p.m. in another Landmark Conference affair.
