MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's tennis team won all nine singles and doubles matches and defeated SUNY Oneonta 7-0 in a non-conference match on a summer-like afternoon on Tuesday at the Drew Tennis Complex.
The Rangers opened the match with three doubles victories, including a 6-3 victory at No. 1 by sophomore
Madison Williams and senior
Natalia Zamora. Sophomore
Nicole Kalorin and junior
Riley Roesel captured a 6-1 win at No. 2, as did juniors
Kapriana Payami and
Danielle Pettoni at No. 3.
Drew followed up by winning all six singles matches, including two that were decided by a tiebreaker. Roesel went the distance in a hard-fought 6-3, 5-7, 10-7 victory at No. 1 while Payami also prevailed in a tiebreaker at No. 6, prevailing 7-5, 3-6, 10-6.
Other winners were Zamora at No. 2 (6-3, 6-3), Kalorin at No. 3 (6-3, 6-1), Williams at No. 4 (6-1, 6-3), and Pettoni at No. 5 (6-1, 6-0).
The Rangers continue their season on Friday, March 20, when they visit Ursinus College in a non-conference match starting at 2:30 p.m.
