MADISON, N.J. – Moravian University edged the Rangers 13-11 in a close women's lacrosse matchup Wednesday evening at a cold and windy Ranger Stadium.
Neither side led by more during the night, which featured two ties and two lead changes.
Senior
Emma Gallaro scored three goals to lead the Rangers (6-3, 1-1 LC), who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end, while juniors
Grace Patane and
Madi Strong and freshman
Regina Williams all netted two goals. Sophomore
Hayden Scotti distributed three assists.

Kristina Lowe contributed six draw controls and three caused turnovers while senior
Emily Monaco contributed four DCs. Senior
Aubrey Welch added five ground balls and four draw controls, a junior
Paige Shaw collected six saves and four ground balls.
Six players scored a goal for Moravian (6-4, 1-1 LC), including Kathryn Hunsinger, who finished with three goals and one assist.
Moravian scored the game's first two goals, but Drew came back to take the lead following a 4-0 run, capped by consecutive goals from Strong that made it 4-2. The Greyhounds scored inside the final minute of the quarter to make it a one-goal affair.
Moravian pumped in the first three goals of the second quarter to go up 6-4 before Gallaro stemmed the rally with a goal at the 2:12 mark that pulled the Rangers within a goal once again. But the Greyhounds netted the final tally of the third quarter to go up 7-5 at the intermission.
Moravian started the second half with the first two goals to enjoy its largest lead of the night at 9-5. But that's when Patane and Gallaro scored 13 seconds apart to chop the lead in half before Patane struck again with 3:21 to go in the quarter, making it 9-8 heading into the final period.
The Greyhounds nudged their advantage back to three with the first two goals of the fourth quarter, making it 11-8 with 9:49 remaining. The teams alternated goals the rest of the way, and Williams scored at the 3:49 mark to make it 12-10. Hunsinger answered with her final goal with 2:32 showing before Welch set the final score with 19 ticks showing.
The Rangers are back in action on Saturday, when they visit Goucher College in another Landmark Conference affair.
