GENEVA, N.Y. – The Drew University women's tennis team snapped a 19-day layoff from competition when it competed in a dual match at William Smith College on Saturday, with the Heron capturing a 7-0 decision.
The Rangers lost by a score of 6-1 in each of the three doubles matches. Sophomore
Madison Williams and senior
Natalia Zamora and competed at No. 1; sophomore
Nicole Kalorin and junior
Riley Roesel were in action at No. 2; and juniors
Kapriana Payami and
Danielle Pettoni played at No. 3.
Drew's closes singles match were at No. 3, where Kalorin lost by a final of 6-1, 6-3, and at No. 5, where Pettoni played her opponent to a 6-2, 6-2 decision.
The Rangers continue their season on Tuesday, when they host SUNY Oneonta starting at 2 p.m. in a non-conference tilt.
