AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Drew University baseball team cranked a season-high 17 hits and the Rangers downed Roger Williams University 12-1 on the second day of its spring break trip to Florida.

Eight different starters batted safely for Drew (3-3), which scored at least one run in all seven innings.

Sophomore
Frank Master led the Rangers at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a double, three RBIs, and a pair of runs scored. Classmate
Zach Maxwell finished 3-for-4 with a triple, and freshman
Anthony Tetto went 3-for-5 with a double. Freshman
Nick Donofrio went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, and sophomore
Anthony Vallaro was 2-for-5 with a homer.

Jayce Thoroughman started on the mound and earned his first career win. He fired a season-high six strikeouts and scattered six hits over five innings. Sophomore
Breckyn DeAngelis came on to throw a pair of scoreless innings.

The Rangers jumped to a 5-0 lead after scoring three times in the top of the third, which included a two-run homer from Vallaro, who smacked the first long ball of his career, and an RBI-double from Tetto.

Drew broke the game open with a four-run fifth, highlighted by a Donofrio's second homer of the year – a two run shot that made it 10-1.

The Rangers continue their trip on Wednesday, when they take on Pitt-Greensburg in a doubleheader staring at 10 a.m.
