MADISON, N.J. – Sophomore outfielder
Frank Master and freshman catcher
Nick Donofrio of the Drew University baseball team have earned all-region honors for their performances during the 2026 season, it was announced on Tuesday.
Â
Master was feted by two different organizations, earning second-team recognition from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and third-team honors from D3baseball.com. Meanwhile, Donofrio captured ABCA third-team status.
Â
The pair become just the fourth and fifth ABCA All-Region honorees in team history and the first since Zach Lipshitz C'19 was a second-team pick in 2019. Although it is just the second time that Drew has earned multiple all-region selections in the same season, it has now occurred twice in the last three years, as
Anthony Diaz Jr. C'25 and
Raiden Yost C'25 were Third-Team D3baseball.com All-Region picks in 2024.
Â
Master, who was also named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team, is coming off a record-breaking campaign, as the centerfielder and leadoff hitter swatted a program-record 63 hits for a .404 batting average, which tied him for eighth in program history. He became just the ninth Ranger to bat over .400 in a season and the first since Joe Henrikson C'06 (.424) and Joe Cardinale C'07 (.414) in 2006. He also smacked six doubles and three triples while leading the team with 46 runs scored, a mark that ranks second in team history, and tied for second on the team in stolen bases (16). He was even better in Landmark Conference play, batting .421 with 28 runs and 10 steals. He finished second in the Landmark Conference in hits, second (tied) in runs, third in batting, third in walks (tied, 32), and ninth (tied) in steals. Defensively, he was perfect in 91 chances (90 putouts, one assist).
Â
Donofrio turned in a stellar debut season for the Rangers and was recognized as both the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and an All-Landmark Conference Second Team selection.
Â
He homered in his first game as a Ranger, and it would be a sign of things to come, as he broke the Drew record for home runs (10) while finishing with the second-most RBIs (46) in a season. He also batted .286 and belted seven doubles and one triple. Defensively, he threw out six would-be base stealers and committed just three errors for a .979 fielding percentage. Among the Landmark Conference leaders, he tied for first in home runs and ranked third in RBIs, third in sacrifice flies (tied, five), and eighth in slugging (.551).
Â
Master and Donofrio helped Drew finish the season with a 25-17 record, posting the second-most wins in team history, and went 13-11 in Landmark Conference play to earn the No. 5 seed in the conference's postseason tournament. The Rangers went on to upset top-seeded Wilkes in the opening round for the squad's first postseason victory in 14 years.
