CAMDEN, N.J. – Senior
Andrew Dunne posted his second straight two-goal game, striking twice in the second half to lift the Drew University men's soccer team to a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Rutgers-Camden in a non-conference affair Saturday afternoon.
It was the third consecutive victory for the Rangers (3-1-2), who were playing Rutgers-Camden for the first time since a 1-0 victory in the quarterfinals of the 2016 ECAC Championships.
The Scarlet Raptors (2-4-1) scored in the 12th minute and carried the lead into the 63rd minute, when Dunne took matters into his own hands. He converted a feed from senior
Kevin Martinez with 27:03 remaining, then finished off a pass from freshman
Julian O'Neill just under two minutes later with what held up as the game-winning goal.
Dunne also scored twice in Drew's 3-0 victory over William Paterson this past Tuesday, and he has already reached a career-high in goals with a team-leading four on the season.
Senior
Donovan Friedhoff made five saves for the Rangers, who were outshot 12-8 by the Scarlet Raptors.
Drew resumes its schedule on Wednesday, when it visit DeSales University at 5 p.m. in another non-conference affair.
