TOWSON, Md. – The Drew University women's soccer team erupted for five goals in the first half en route to a 6-0 victory at Goucher College in its Landmark Conference opener on Saturday.
Senior defender
Bianca Anghelache posted her first career multi-goal game for the Rangers (3-1-3, 1-0 LC), who won their third game in a row. Four other players also scored for Drew.
The Rangers posted their highest scoring output since a 7-0 victory over Delaware Valley on Sept. 19, 2023. In addition, it was the team's most goals scored in a Landmark Conference match since an 8-0 home win over Goucher on Oct. 9, 2011.
Drew outshot Goucher 19-9 and held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Junior
Hayden Scotti made four saves to earn her second shutout of the season.
Sophomore
Riley Bent put the Rangers on the scoreboard in the 11th minute, scoring for the second game in a row while kicking off a four-goal, seven-minute scoring spree.
Anghelache followed up just over a minute later with her first goal. She converted a feed from junior
Megan Jozak, who also assisted on the following goal scored by senior
Ella Reyngoudt in the 16th minute that made it 3-0.
Freshman
Hannah Stahl capped the run in the 17th minute, finishing off a pass from Bent while scoring for the second consecutive outing.
Anghelache scored again in the 42nd minute off an assist from junior
Emily Wallace as the Rangers assumed a 5-0 halftime advantage.
Freshman
Caitlin Zegler capped the scoring for Drew with an unassisted tally in the 51st minute,
The Rangers continue their season on Wednesday, when they visit Stevens Institute in a non-conference affair starting at 7 p.m.
