MADISON, N.J. – Senior Victoria Latino posted 12 kills, eight digs, and three service aces and the Drew University women's volleyball team captured its first victory of the season with a 3-0 sweep of Cedar Crest College in a non-conference matchup Tuesday evening in Baldwin Gym.

The Rangers (1-4), who never trailed the entire evening, won by scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-17.

Latino committed just one error on 18 swings for a stellar .611 hitting performance.

Freshman Aaliyah Anderson contributed six kills and three blocks, contributing to a balanced team effort for the Rangers, who had 20 different players enter the match.

First-year Jessica Donnelly pitched in with five kills and three blocks for Drew while three setters – freshman Hailey Kenefick (10), sophomore Cristina Coombs (nine), and senior Amanda Rachwal (nine) – combined for 28 assists.

Kayla Duenkel and Kylie Heffner posted five kills each for the Falcons (0-4).

Drew opened the evening on a 6-1 run and never looked back. The Rangers, who hit a blistering .545 in the first set, led just 9-6 before breaking open the first set with an 8-1 surge.

The hosts took control early in the second set as well, opening on 6-2 burst. However, Cedar Crest kept within striking distance for most of the set and trailed just 19-14 before Drew ended the set on a 6-1 run.

The third set was all Rangers as well, as the Blue and Green opened with eight unanswered points. The Falcons trailed 18-12 before Drew settled any doubt with a 5-0 spurt.

The Rangers are back in action on Thursday, when they visit Albright College in another non-conference affair starting at 7 p.m.
