Why did you choose Drew University?
Once I visited Drew I knew it was the one. Coming from a small town in North Jersey I was looking for a small school that kept me close to the city and had a great sense of community and Drew was the perfect fit. It also gave me the opportunity to play soccer, which was a great bonus!

Why did you choose your major and what is your favorite course?
I chose Political Science and Chinese Studies as my major and minor because I am very interested in government, especially international relations. My favorite course I have taken so far has to be the Chinese language courses I took abroad in Harbin, China.

What is your most memorable moment as a Ranger?
My most memorable moment as a Ranger would absolutely have to be winning the conference championship last season!

How has being an athlete helped you as a student and in the classroom?
Being an athlete has many benefits on campus, but I would have to say one of the best ones takes place in the classroom. The athletes tend to know one another and help each other out whether it’s getting missed notes or studying for a test.

What is the most difficult part of your sport?
The most difficult part of soccer has to be the high intensity that lasts a full 90 minutes without many breaks, but it’s also the most fun part about soccer. So it works out quite nicely.

Why do you wear your jersey number?
I always was number 13 and 3 growing up, but the numbers were taken in high school so I just picked 7 so that’s the jersey number I’ve stuck with since then.

What advice do you have for a prospective Drew University student-athlete?
My advice to anyone who is a prospective student-athlete is to definitely become one. I know I struggled with whether or not I wanted to play in college and I am so happy with my choice. Being an athlete especially at Drew has allowed me to be a part of something pretty amazing. I’ve met the best people and my best friends through soccer.

Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Drew?
Community service is an important part of many athletes at Drew. As a member of SAAC we volunteer and raise money throughout the year. It’s a great club that every athlete should become a part of.

Name one obstacle or form of adversity you have had to overcome...
In soccer the biggest obstacle had to be the season leading up to our conference championship win. Our season started off great leading up to 12 straight wins. Towards the end of the season we lost two crucial conference games against two teams we had to face in playoffs. As a team we really had to be better and we worked really hard to focus in and achieve our goal. I’ve never faced as much pressure as I have in those games and am so proud of the teams execution and winning spirit that won us those games.
