Andrew Kohler enters his first season on the Rangers coaching staff as an assistant in 2014-15. Kohler comes to Madison after a four-year playing career at DeSales University.
He will take over as the lead recruiter for the Rangers along with assisting in day-to-day operations of the men's basketball program.
Kohler has eight years experience coaching youth basketball camps at DeSales, Phillipsburg High School and Notre Dame High School. During his playing days, the 6-foot-8 forward was also active off the court. Kohler volunteered at the Special Olympics and participated in the Cops 'n' Kids Literacy Program for four years.
As a Bulldog at DeSales under veteran head coach Scott Coval, Kohler was named the Al Senavitis Award winner after his senior season for his role as an exemplary teammate and epitomizing what it truly meant to be a DeSales basketball player. Kohler played in three Freedom Conference championship games and helped the Bulldogs win the 2014 title before heading to the NCAA Tournament last March.
Kohler played basketball and baseball at Notre Dame Green Pond High School and was selected to the Colonial All-League First Team, the Morning Call All-Area Team and Express Times All-Area Team. He was part of three PIAA District XI championship teams in high school.
