Bonelli enters his first year with the Rangers after graduating from Rutgers University  with a degree in Journalism and Media Studies.

During his three years in New Brunswick, Bonelli worked as a scout for the Scarlet Knight men's basketball program. Prior to Rutgers, he worked as a student manager for the Warren Hills High School basketball program for six years, two at the varsity level.

Bonelli works closely with the Braydon Carr Foundation which helps teams with seizure disorders and their families.
