Trey Bailey enters his second season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Drew University in 2021-22.

In his first year at Drew, Bailey helped lead the Rangers to their first-ever Landmark Conference title when the Blue and Green posted a thrilling overtime victory over the University of Scranton in Baldwin Gym. He helped Drew set a program record for the most All-Landmark Conference selections when three Rangers earned first-team status. In addition, he helped coach Malachi Walker C'21, who was a repeat Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year selection.

Bailey came to The Forest by way of nearby New Jersey City University, where he served as an assistant coach during the 2019-20 season. He helped lead the Gothic Knights to a berth in the ECAC Division Championships, where they reached the quarterfinals. Bailey also assisted in the development of three All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) performers, including one who was named a First-Team All-American and the NJAC Player of the Year. 

Prior to his stint at NJCU, Bailey worked as an assistant women's basketball coach just down Madison Avenue at Saint Elizabeth University from 2017-19. He assisted in coaching the team to its best conference record in program history, as it went from an 8-16 league mark in 2018 to a 14-8 conference showing in 2019, when the Eagles also qualified for the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs. He also helped develop one of the nation's top-five rebounders in Division III.

Bailey started his coaching career at Selinsgrove (Pa.) High School, where he served as an assistant from 2015-17. He graduated from Landmark Conference foe Susquehanna University in 2015, earning a bachelor of arts degree in communication with a concentration in digital multimedia broadcasting, before working as an admissions counselor for one year at his alma mater. Bailey was also a four-year track & field athlete at Susquehanna and placed all four years at the Landmark Conference Championships in the high jump.Â
