Shane Carmody

Shane Carmody enters his first season an as assistant men's lacrosse coach at Drew University in 2019-20.
 
Carmody comes to the Forest from Rutgers University, his alma mater, where he served as the Director of Lacrosse Operations during the 2018-19 season. In his multi-faceted role, he coordinated all film production, breaking down all of Rutgers’ games and practices as well games of upcoming opponents. He also served as an offensive assistant for the Scarlet Knights, preparing weekly scouting reports. Carmody helped coach two All-Big 10 attackmen, including one who was also named an All-American.
 
Prior to his time in Piscataway, Carmody worked as an assistant men’s lacrosse coach and director of recruiting at Montclair State University from 2016-18. He also served as acting head coach for the Red Hawks from June through October of 2018. As offensive coordinator, he coached eight All-NJAC selections, including a conference player of the year, and three USILA All-Americans. He also helped guide the team to success off the field, as the men’s lacrosse program finished with the highest GPA (3.02) among male sports teams at Montclair State in 2017-18. Carmody was honored as the IMLCA Assistant Coach of the Year, and he was also part of the IMLCA Staff of the Year.
 
Carmody has gained additional coaching experience with the New Jersey Riot and TriState Lacrosse club teams, and he also assisted with winter training clinics for both BlueStar Lacrosse and Turnpike Lacrosse.
 
Carmody graduated from Rutgers in 2016 with a bachelor of science degree in sports management and minor in business administration-marketing.
