A 2009 graduate of Montclair State University, Masterson comes from a strong tradition of success being a member of the men's soccer team. In his time at Montclair, the Red Hawks won three-straight NJAC Championships and made three consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament. The 2008 squad finished the regular season undefeated, earning them a first round bye in the NCAA Tournament.
In three seasons at Montclair, Masterson was a three-time First Team All-Conference performer and the NJAC Offensive Player of the Year his senior season. The two-year captain, led the NJAC in goals and overall points, earning him NSCAA National All-American honors in 2008.
After college, Masterson spent a year playing professional soccer in the Puerto Rican Soccer League (PRSL) for Sevilla F.C. He compiled 10 goals and nine assists in his first professional season. In the offseason he has been working as a personal trainer for PEAK Performance in Chester, N.J. and for the New York Red Bulls Free Style Street Team.
