Ramapo Slows Men's Soccer

Ramapo 2, Drew 0

For the first time in four games, Drew men's soccer did not record a shutout and was defeated.  The Rangers fell to Ramapo in Mahwah, 2-0, breaking their four-game winning streak.  With the loss, Drew falls to 5-3-4 and had their scoreless streak broken after 417 minutes of play when Matt Fleissner tallied on a penalty kick in 57th minute.

After a scoreless first half where Drew edged Ramapo in shots, 6-4, senior Matt Fleissner capitalized on a penalty kick in the 57th minute to open the scoring.  The goal, which stood as the game winner, was Fleissner's third of the season.

With just under nine minutes to play in the game, rookie forward Rob Santaniello slipped a ball through the Ranger defense to sophomore Rob Nalesnik who tallied his first goal of the year, giving Ramapo a two goal advantage.

Dave Brigandi made six saves in goal for the Rangers who had eight of their shots stopped Ian Tighe in goal for the Roadrunners.

The Rangers get back to Landmark Conference action on Saturday when they host the Scranton Royals.
