Drew Swimming swept the inaugural Battle of Madison Avenue between the Rangers, FDU and St. Elizabeth's on Tuesday night. The Ranger men won every race in defeating the Devils while the women used superior depth to win their three-team meet.
Drew's men's team competed against FDU and posted a resounding victory. The Rangers won every race to sweep the meet. Ben Kurose won the 1000 Freestyle race, 12:37.80. John Feniello won both the 100 and 200 Freestyle races. Alex Braunstein won 50 Free with a time of 25.51. Freshman Walter Bakun won both the 200 IM and the 100 Backstroke. Jeroen Fabricant won the 500 Free by nearly ten seconds, 5:28.15. In the final event of the meet, Ulysses Baldwin-Beneich touched first, but as an exhibition swimmer in the 100 Breaststroke at 1:11.58.
On the women's side, Drew took an early lead thanks to wins in the first two events. The Rangers 200 Medley Relay team easily took the opening event and
Jasmine Prokscha's win in the 1000 Free by nearly 40 seconds.
Kati Eggert stormed to a win in the 50 Free and 100 Fly. Senior
Selena Davis kept up her winning streak by taking the 100 Backstroke. Davis has now won at least one event in every meet this season.
