Drew's Equestrian team had its best show of the young season on Sunday, taking third place overall and winning five blue ribbons.  First-year Sarah Colmer earned the show's High Point Rider with a blue ribbon Intermediate Fences and a second place finish in Intermediate Flat.  The Riding Rangers also saw Sean Ireland qualify for the Regionals in Walk Trot Canter.  Another spectacular performance came from sophomore Katie Kramer who won the competitive Open Flat class that included the 2009 National Cacchione Cup Champion Lindsay Clark of Centenary.

Rachel Denning won her third blue ribbon of the season by winning the Open Fences class.  It is her second straight victory in the class following last week's similar triumph.  Teammate Haley Flagg placed second in the class while Sarah Barbato and Hailee Greene were each awarded fourth place and Mollie McGann and Katie Kramer were each awarded fifth place. 

The Riding Rangers took first and second in Intermediate Fences as well, but went one further as Ellen Joyce took third place in the class.  Sarah Colmer won the class, an one spot improvement over last week's second place, while Ashley Kraft taking the second place ribbon.

The Rangers picked up three more Blue Ribbons on the day.  Leanne Horinko placed first in Novice Fences, Kaitlyn Bennett in Advanced Walk Trot Canter and Stephanie Elden in Novice Flat to help the Rangers secure the third place team finish.  Among the other notable results, Sean Ireland's second place showing in Walk Trot earned him enough points to qualify for the Regional Championships.

The Riding Rangers are still ranked fourth in the region for the '09-'10 Show season.  They have won a combined 13 Blue Ribbons and now have four Regional Championship Qualifiers: Ellen Joyce, Sara Lovett, Haley Flagg and Sean Ireland.
