Red Hawks Top Rangers in Home Opener

MADISON, N.J. (November 12, 2010) - The Rangers suffered their second loss of the 2010 season at the hands of Montclair State this evening, 139-95. The Rangers once again saw bright spots from the class of 2014.

Tommy DiGuglielmo (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) registered the only first place finish for the Rangers in the 200 Individual Medley. After finishing second last week at Ramapo he egdged the Red Hawks Zak Westerberg by nearly two seconds. He swam a personal best 2:07.23 in his second collegiate meet. He also got a taste of the 50 Breast for the first time this season in which he was out-touched by a Red Hawk swimmer, losing the race by .16 of a second.

The Red Hawks, who picked up their first victory of the season and fourth-straight win over Drew (0-2). fhad an answer in almost every event.

Another freshman, Austin Goetjen (Simsbury, Conn./Avon Old Farms School), posted the team's best time in the 50 free with a 24.16 and the 50 Fly with a 26.55.

The Rangers will look ahead to when they travel to Mount St. Mary College on Friday evening seeking their first win of the 2010-11 season.
