DiGuglielmo Sweeps Breaststroke, Rangers Fall in Conference Opener

MADISON, N.J. (November 20, 2010) – Freshman
Tommy DiGuglielmo (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) was nearly unbeatable this afternoon, taking first in two individual races and placing second in the 200 IM.
The freshman, DiGuglielmo, clocked the fourth-best 100 Breast time in school history earlier this year just missed his personal best today by four tenths of a second. His time of 1:04.95 was three seconds better than the second place finisher this afternoon. Later, in the 200, Breast he swam the 200 Breast for the first time this season and turned in the ninth best time in school history with a 2:25.18.
He nearly pulled off his third win of the day in the 200 IM but settled for a second place finish and a time of 2:10.12. The Medley Relay, comprised of Michael Ng (Scarsdale, N.Y./Edgemont) DiGuglielmo, Damien Berube (Beach Haven N.J./Southern Regional) and Austin Goetjen (Simsbury Conn./Avon Old Farms School), was out-touched for first place in the meet's second event. Their time of 1:50.04 was a team best this season.
After the holiday, the Rangers are set to host Fairleigh Dickinson and St. Elizabeth's on December 4 & 5.
