Rangers Claim Madison Ave., Improve to 3-3

MADISON, N.J. (December 5, 2010) - It took two days to complete but the Women's Swim Team is once again Queens of Madison Ave. as the defeated both Fairleigh Dickinson and the College of St. Elizabeth's this weekend. Drew has never lost to either school in a total of 14 tries.
Freshman
Mariel Schwinger (Los Angeles, Calif./Thousand Oaks) and Captain
Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) were the Rangers' two high scorers in the meets. Schwinger continues her sensational start to her collegiate career with wins in the 200 Free and the 1650 Free. In her first time swimming the 1650 Free she not only turned in the top time of any Ranger this season but the fourth-best time in school history.
Eggert also took the top spots in two events, winning the 100 Free with a time of 57.54 and the 100 fly with a time of 1:06.94. Both times were the fastest she's swam all season.
Another
Alexa Morrissey (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall Academy), swept the Breaststroke for the first time this season. She was the top time, as the Rangers were able to take the top three spots in the 100 Breast and the top two in the 200 Breast.
Senior
Jordan Bader (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) and newcomer
Jess Harrington (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) were the other two Rangers to claim victories in the 200 Fly and the 100 Back respectively.
Drew had the high score of 216 while Fairleigh Dickinson was second with 122 and St. Elizabeth's posted 72 points. The two wins by the women helped propel Head Coach
Eric Scheingoltz into third place all-time on the Drew Swimming wins list.
The Rangers will not return to action until after the New Year when they take on the College of Staten Island at F.M. Kirby Pool.
