Two Rangers Are Top 12 in Region
LONG VALLEY, N.J. (April 10, 2010) - The Drew Equestrian Team competed Intercollegiate Zone II Championship this weekend at the Centenary College Equestrian Center. In the most competitive zone in the conference,
Katie Kramer (Los Angeles, Calif./Wildwood Secondary) and
Ashley Kraft (Washington, Conn./Kent) finish the season in the top 12 in their region.
Kramer competed in the Individual Open Fences, riding Laugh and and Kraft competed in the Individual Intermediate Equitation on the Flat riding Jackir. The top three finishers qualified for ISHA Nationals in Kentucky that take place in May.
Two Drew Alumni also competed this weekend looking to qualify for nationals in the Alumni division. Kristine Kennedy C'06 finished in first place, punching her ticket to nationals, after her blue ribbon ride on the flat. Competing in Scranton, Pa.,Tori Frederick C'08 finished in first place in Alumni Fences and Alumni Equitation on the Flat. Frederick and and Kennedy are no strangers to the national stage as both riders Kennedy will be at her fourth nationals and Frederick at her second. Kennedy won the National Alumni Equitation on the Flat Championship in 2007.\
The 2010 Equestrian season comes to a close as they finish fourth in overall team competition.
