Rangers Complete Sweep of Greyhounds

MADISON, N.J. (September 25, 2010) - With field hockey and women's soccer already with earlier wins, men's soccer was able to pick up their first Landmark Conference win of the season with a 3-1 victory over the Greyhounds of Moravian to complete the fall sweep.
Moravian (2-7, 0-1 Landmark) got out to the early 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal from Earic Paone, who came right off the bench to score the first goal of the contest at the 34 minute mark. Drew (7-1, 1-0 Landmark) would respond with the first goal of the season by senior
Jesse Puzio (Pequannock, N.J./Pequannock Twp.). The Rangers were awarded a free kick on the end line which was served up by freshman
Kevin Veliz (Plainfield, N.J./Plainfield) and after the ball was knocked around the box, the physical Puzio put the ball into the the left side of the net to knot the game at one.
The Ranger offense would turn it on in the second half as they got off 13 shots in the final frame. The game-winner would come 71 minutes into the contest when
RJ Voorman (Wycoff, N.J./Ramapo) played a beautiful crossing ball to the far side where the Landmark Conference's leading scorer,
Matthew Gragnano (Hazlet, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy), was there to head the ball to the far post.
The Rangers would add an insurance goal only 1:31 later when the another senior,
Will Brackett (Wycoff, N.J./Ramapo), had a ball come right to his feet about 25 yards out in which he ripped to the far side of the net for Drew's third and final goal.
The Rangers will return to action on Wednesday when they host Delaware Valley in the second game of a soccer doubleheader.
