MADISON, N.J. (January 22, 2011) - The Rangers were able to come out on top this afternoon as they won their final home meet of the season, 74-65 over King's College. Drew honored its lone senior Nelson Melendez (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrenceville) during the first break of the meet.

Melendez would save some of his best swimming for last. In both the 50 and 100 Free he posted lifetime bests, shattering his 100 Free time by more than a second.

Freshman Austin Goetjen (Simsbury, Conn./Avon Old Farms School) was the top Ranger performer on the day, claiming first place in both the 100 and 200 Free. Classmate Thomas DiGuglelmo (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) did the swimming equivalent to a marathon, by competing in every race. He took home first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.34.

Damien Berube (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) had an impressive race and was the top Ranger finisher in the 100 Fly. His time of 1:02.76 was slightly off his season-best time.

Drew will travel to Scranton on Saturday to wrap up their regular season schedule. Meet time is set for 1:00 in Scranton, Pa.
