SCRANTON, Pa. (January 29, 2011) - Drew closed out their 2010-11 dual meet season this afternoon with a loss at the hands of conference opponent Scranton, 163-57. The Rangers will now shift their focus to the Landmark Conference Championships in two weeks.

Freshman Mariel Schwinger (Los Angeles, Calif./Sherman Oaks) had one of her best swims of the season, recording the fourth fastest 1000 Free time in the Landmark Conference. She took first place by nearly 20 seconds with a time of 11:19.80. Schwinger would also pick up four points for the Rangers later in the meet, finishing second in the 200 Back with a time of 2:22.55.

Classmate Alexa Morrissey (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontebonne Hall Academy) collected a first and two second place finishes on the day. She had a personal best in the 200 free, taking first place with a time of 2:08.26. She was able to pick up points in the Rangers finishing second in both 50 Free and 200 IM.

Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J/Morris Knolls) was the other Ranger with a first place finish. She won the 100 Free with her season best time of 57.65.

The women will be in the pool next in two weeks, on February 11-13 for the Landmark Conference Championships. Merchant Marine will host for the fourth-consecutive year. More information on the weekend can be found here http://www.landmarkconference.org/sports/swimdive/2010-11/championships
