BETHLEHEM, Pa. (October 1, 2011) – The Rangers cruised to a 5-1 victory over Moravian College (2-8, 2-2 Landmark) in their second conference game of the season. Drew (8-2, 1-1 Landmark) has emerged victorious in the last 15 tries against the Greyhounds.
Sophomore
RJ Voorman (Wycoff, N.J./Ramapo) got the Rangers on the scoreboard just 3:10 into the game when he beat Moravian goaltender Mike Brand on a shot from outside the 18 for his first goal of the season. The score would be the first of three goals by the two teams in the first 17 minutes of play.
Kyle Reinhardt (Newton, N.J./Newton) gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead when he found
John Nogiewich (Pine Beach, N.J./Toms River South) in the 13
th minute for his third goal of the year. The Greyhounds closed the gap four minutes later when Jeffrey Alogor connected with the left foot to make the score 2-1. The first half would end with the Rangers holding a 10-9 advantage in shots.
The Ranger offense went on to score three unanswered goals in the second half of play including Nogiewich's second goal of the game off a cross by Voorman.
Ricardo Castro (Mexicali, Mexico/Vincent Memorial) and
Ian Elfers (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills) rounded off the scoring off for the Rangers with their first scores of the season.
Rich Boland (North Kingstown, R.I./Moses Brown) made the start in net for the Rangers, stopping four shots for his fifth win of the season.
The Rangers will be on the road again on Wednesday when they travel to Ramapo for a non-conference tilt at 3:00 p.m.
