MADISON, N.J. (November 9, 2012) – Montclair State (2-2) took home a 96-86 victory over Drew this afternoon at the F.M. Kirby Pool this evening. The Rangers suffer their first loss of the season and their 11th consecutive setback against the Red Hawks.
Junior
Thomas DiGuglielmo (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) put forth another strong effort for the Rangers. He placed first in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:04.30 and touched second in the 100 Freestyle with a time 52.83.
The Rangers picked up points in the 50 freestyle and the 200 Individual Medley with second and third place finishes.
Austin Goetjen (Simsbury, Conn./Avon Old Farms School) and
Michael Ng (Scarsdale, N.Y./Edgemont) touched two and three with times of 23.85 and 24.12 respectively. In the 200 IM, sophomore
Clayton Curran (Middletown, Conn./Middletown) and
Stan Chu (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) placed second and third with times of 2:11.15 and 2:19.31 respectively.
The Rangers concluded the meet with the most exciting race of the night in the 200 Freestyle relay. The quartet of Ng, Goetjen,
Conor Burnett (Cedar Grove, N.J./Cedar Grove) and Chu finished with the exact same time as their Montclair St. counterparts touching with a time of 1:37.03.
The Rangers will look to make it three-in-a-row tomorrow when they take on Conference foe, Marywood in Scranton, Pa.
