Rangers Play to 0-0 Draw Against Valiants

Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. (September 15, 2012) – Neither Manhattanville (3-2-2) or Drew (4-1-1) could get on the scoreboard the afternoon despite 110 minutes of soccer. Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Reyes (Delran, N.J./Delran) was credited with his fourth-consecutive shutout.

The Rangers statistically dominated the game, taking 34 shots compared to just 14 by the Valiants. Drew also held an 11-5 advantage in corner kicks.

In the second half alone the Rangers fired off 11 shots with six of them going on net. Making just his third career start, Manhattanville goalkeeper Steve Singson turned away 13 Ranger shots including five between the two overtime periods.

Reyes and the Ranger defense have not allowed a goal since September 5th.  The sophomore made a career-high seven saves and now has six shutouts in eight career starts.

Drew will be on the road Wednesday night in Patchogue, N.Y. when they take on St. Joseph's College at 7:00 p.m.
