Ricardo Castro (Mexicali, Mexico/Vincent Memorial) provided the difference maker, netting his third goal in his last two games.
The Rangers improve to 9-3-2 on the season while the Lions were shutout for the first time this season and drop to 8-5-2.
The Rangers offense broke through with
17:07 remaining in the first half.
Freshman Joseph Cereste (Kenilworth, NJ/Dave Brearley) ripped a shot from the left side that TCNJ goalkeeper Maciej Libucha dove to his left to stop.
Daniel Ratyniak (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township) followed the shot, but Libucha denied a second attempt. Castro then deposited that rebound into the open net for his fifth goal of the season.
The score proved to be the game-winner as neither team struck for the remainder of the contest. The Lions held a 14-12 advantage in shots and took four corner kicks compared to two by the Rangers.
Junior
Michael Reyes (Delran, N.J./Delran) pitched his third-straight shutout and held opponents scoreless for the last 354:19. The shutout is his Landmark Conference-leading sixth of the season and 16
th of his career.
Libucha registered a game-high eight saves in the loss. The Rangers take hold of the all-time series with the Lions, 15-14-3. Drew has won the previous three meetings by a total score of 8-3.
Drew will return to Landmark Conference action on Saturday when they play host to Goucher. The men's game will be the nightcap of a women's/men's doubleheader and begin at 3:30 p.m.
