MADISON, N.J. (November 23, 2013) – The Drew University men's and women's swim teams suffered defeats to Elizabethtown this evening. The Blue Jays edged the Drew women, 107-97 and the men, 113-74.

Elizabethtown, who joins the Landmark Conference next year, improved to 2-5 on the men's side while the women moved to 3-4 on the season. The Drew women lost another close meet, falling to 1-5 on the year and the men drop to 0-6

Senior
Alexa Morrissey (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Academy) swam season best time of 2:20.61 in the 200 individual medley. She won the race with and posted the third fastest time in the Landmark Conference this season. Drew freshman
Karina Urquhart (Sanford, Maine/Sanford) placed second in the race with a time of 2:23.34.

The Rangers also went 1-2 in the 200 butterfly. Urquhart won the event with a time of 1:06.06 and sophomore
Kristin Zeigler (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) came in second with a time of 1:09.64.

Freshman
Tori Braun (Pittstown, N.J./North Hunterdon) came away with a first place finish in 100 backstroke. She out-touched teammate
Jordon Jessup (Port Hueneme, Calif./Oxnard) with a time of 1:05.32.

For the men, senior
Thomas DiGuglielmo (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) swam a season-best time of 1:02.33 in the 100 breaststroke. It was the fifth fastest swim in the Landmark this season.

Freshman
Logan Amodio (Wayne, N.J./DePaul Catholic) rounded out the Drew first place finishers with a win in the 200 freestyle.

The Rangers also came away with victories in both freestyle relays. The quartet of
Jess Harrington (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield), Braun,
Jackie King (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) and Morrisey won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.49.
Mike Smoliga (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame),
Chris Worden (Brewer, Maine/Brewer),
Niklas Andersen (Mendham, N.J./Gill St. Benard's),
Peter Mari (Washington Twp./Westwood Regional) comprised the winning men's 200 freestyle relay.
The Rangers will return to Landmark Conference action tomorrow against Susquehanna. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at F.M. Kirby Pool.
