Box Score 2 STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (April 14, 2013) – The Drew University softball team split with the College of Staten Island in today's non-conference doubleheader. The Dolphins won game one, 5-2 and 
Casey Reggiani (Whippany, N.J./Whippany Park) hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give the Rangers a 4-3 victory in the nightcap.
 
Reggiani finished the day going 3-for-7 with an RBI and a run scored.  Senior 
Jeramie Barletta (Madison, N.J./Madison) was also 3-for-7 in the two games and scored a run.
 
Game 1
The Dolphins racked up an opponent-high, 15 hits and scored the final four runs to earn the opening game victory. Staten Island opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first inning on a RBI single by Stefanie Solari.
 
The Rangers took the lead in the top of the second with two runs. Sophomore 
Amy Benedict (Howell, N.J./Freehold Twp.) recorded an infield hit with the bases loaded to score the first run of the game for the Rangers. The next batter, 
Laura D'Ornellas (Lanoka Harbor, N.J./Lacey Twp.) popped up down the left field line but it was deep enough to score 
Lexie Forsell (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro) and give Drew a 2-1 lead.
 
The Dolphins recaptured the lead in the bottom of the third on a bases loaded walk issued to Danielle Locke. The Dolphins tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to lock up the 5-2 victory.
 
Game 2
The Ranger comeback was completed in the top of the seventh on Reggiani's first home run of the season. With the score tied at three, the sophomore pulled a two-out pitch down the left field line and gave the Rangers a 4-3 advantage.
 
The Rangers tied the game up in the previous inning on a sacrifice fly by 
Antoinette Tovar (South El Monte, Calif./South El Monte) that scored D'Ornellas.
 
The Dolphins scored three runs between the third and fourth innings to take a 3-1 lead.
 
Reggiani was also the winning pitcher in the contest, tossing a complete game and allowing only three runs.
 
The Rangers will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel across the street to take on rival, Fairleigh Dickinson. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
