Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (April 23, 2013) – The Drew University softball team dropped a pair of games this afternoon to Centenary College (17-11). The Cyclones took game one 6-5 and completed the doubleheader sweep with a 3-2 win in game two. The Rangers drop to 11-23 on the season.

Junior Lexie Forsell (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro) went 3-for-7 with two runs scored between the two games.

Game 1
The Cyclones hit three home runs in the first game of the doubleheader and no one was more important that the long ball hit by Cara Montferrat in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the score tied at five and two outs, the senior catcher belted a solo home run to give the Cyclones a 6-5 victory.

Meagan Madsen came on to pitch the seventh for the Cyclones and overcame a first batter error to earn her first save of the season.

Centenary jumped out to a 4-0 lead thanks a pair of home runs in the bottom of the first inning. Senior Roxanne Keelan hit a three-run home run and a batter later Caitlyn Dean hit a solo blast for the fourth run of the inning.

The Rangers bounced back in the top of the third taking advantage of one of the Cyclones six errors in the contest. Kate McNamara (Levitttown, N.Y./MacArthur) was credited with an RBI single that scored Forsell and the Rangers scored two runs on an outfield miscue earlier in the frame.

Sophomore Laura D'Ornellas tied the game up at four with an RBI single to right field, making the score 4-4. The Cyclones recaptured the lead in the top of the fifth on Montferrat's first RBI of the game. The Rangers countered in the top of the fifth, tying the game at five on an RBI single by Casey Reggiani (Whippany, N.J./Whippany Park).

Game 2
The Rangers once again came from behind to tie the game up but the Cyclones scored the final run of the game in the bottom of the sixth, taking advantage of a Ranger fielding error.

With the Cyclones up 2-0, the Rangers plated two runs in the top of the fourth to tie the game. McNamara drove in her 17th run of the season on a double to left that scored Forsell. McNamara would score one batter later on Reggiani's second RBI of the day.
Madsen, who started the game in the circle for the Cyclones, re-entered in the top of the seventh and allowed only one baserunner to earn her fourth save of the season. Keelan was credited with the win after tossing 2.2 innings, allowing only three hits and no runs.

The Rangers will close out their 2013 campaign on Thursday at home when they play Richard Stockton at home.  The twinbill is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in Madison.
