Box Score MADISON, N.J. (April 7, 2013) – The Drew University baseball team won the final game of a three-game series with Juniata (8-16, 4-6 Landmark) this afternoon at Doc Young field, 13-3. The Rangers avoid the sweep, improving to 8-15 overall and 2-7 in the Landmark Conference.
The Rangers scored in each of their first five turns at the plate and never trailed in the contest. The win is also the first conference, nine-inning win of the season.
In the bottom of the first inning, the Rangers put two runs on the scoreboard by virtue of the sacrifice fly. Freshman
Anthony Feltre (South Brunswick, N.J./Metuchen) got the Rangers on the scoreboard on a fly out to left field that scored
Steve Kowalski (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville). Freshman
J.C. Rasic (Pasadena, Calif./Loyola) was credited with his 14
th RBI of the season on a fly out to center that scored
Michael Bodden (Toms River, N.J./Monsignor Donovan), putting the Rangers up 2-0.
After the Eagles scored in the top of the second, Kowalski extended the Drew lead on a two-RBI double down the left field line. The sophomore was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. He also swiped his ninth stolen base of the season.

Justin Mancini (Haskell, N.J./Lakeland Regional) reached base for the 11
th-straight game in the bottom of the third with a single to left field that scored two runs, giving the Rangers a 5-2 advantage. The Ranger first baseman was 1-for-1 with two RBIs and a run scored. He was also hit by a pitch twice in the contest and leads the Landmark conference with 11 on the season.
The Rangers were able to blow the game open in the bottom of the fifth inning by plating six runners and knocking out Juniata starting pitcher, Mario DeYulis. The Rangers scored all six runs on just two hits. Kowalski and Bodden each singled home a pair of runs in the frame.

Ken Myers (Straford, N.J./Sterling) fought through five innings, striking out two and allowing only three runs.
The Rangers will be back on the diamond on Tuesday when they travel to Richard Stockton for a non-conference tilt with the Ospreys. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Galloway, N.J.
