Box Score 2 Fort Myers, Fla. (March 11, 2014) – The Drew University softball team (5-1) collected its fourth and fifth wins of the season in a third day sweep at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. The Rangers defeated Pitt-Bradford, 8-1 in the first game and Bridgewater State, 8-0 in the second game.
The Rangers scored four runs in the first inning against Pitt-Bradford and never looked back. Senior

Helen Mustafa (Union City, N.J./Union City) who singled to the pitcher just two batters earlier.
Drew only needed five innings to tame the Bridgewater State Tigers, 8-0 in game two of the day. After a scoreless first inning the Rangers scored three runs in the second inning taking a, 3-0 lead. Junior
Rebecca Hutsebaut (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) led off the inning with a single to right field. Following a walk and two wild pitches Hutsebaut crossed the plate for the game's first run. Drew added three more runs in the top of the fourth including a double from Agostini that scored freshman
Meghan McGuire (Stockton, N.J./Hunterdon Central) who led off the inning with an infield single.
Junior
Laura D'Ornellas (Lanoka Harbor, N.J./Lacey Township) pitched the first game of the day for the Rangers. D'Ornellas surrendered six hits and struck out seven batters in seven innings of work. Sophomore
Kristin Zeigler (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) won her third game of the season in the second game of the day. Zeigler allowed two hits and struck out one batter in the win.
Drew has the day off tomorrow and will return to action on Thursday March 13 as they continue with the Cusic Classic. Drew faces Rockford University in game one at 1:00 p.m. and Mount Mary University at 3:00 p.m. in game two.
